Benefits of an Outdoor Workout

Benefits of an Outdoor Workout

Some people don’t realize it, but there is an entire gym out there with no membership fees . . . It’s the outdoors. These people ignore it because they believe that without weights they won’t get a workout. But, let’s look at the benefits of exercising outside.

Parks may not have all the standard gym equipment, but every time you visit the park you arrive with the best workout equipment– the human body. You don’t need an appointment or a membership. You walk in, workout, and leave feeling great. The great thing about learning body weight training at Quest Fitness is that you take your knowledge with you everywhere, and consider this . . . training outside is the opportunity to try new and creative ways to breathe life into your exercise routine.

Another great reason to train outdoors is soaking in the sunlight. Sunlight and fresh air fuel the body and mind, raising your energy. The sun is a great source of Vitamin D and, if you didn’t know, it helps your mood. But don’t forget to pack your water and some sunscreen.

Studies have shown that outdoor exercise and other physical outdoor activities have a positive effect on blood pressure. As a result, the workout may feel less strenuous and help you push to new physical levels.

To exercise outside all you have to do is walk through your door. You don’t have to travel 15 – 30 min to your gym and then wait for equipment. You are saving your time, your gas money and pollution created by transportation, and helping your body and the environment.
